I’m so glad you are here
I’m Johanna Pahalahti.
Visual artist from Finland, mother of three, lover of the endangered Saimaa ringed seal. I enjoy black of the blackest coffee and listening to the silence in our summer cabin.
I started my photography career in my teens, photographing bands in their shows. I have studied photography in multiple courses and schools. I have had internships in newspapers and a studio in Norway. I enjoy documentary photography.
I have documented the life of hospice Stabekk in Norway and my grandmother, Anja after she got paralyzed. In recent years I have done cameraless photography called cyanotype. I find cyanotypes fascinating because you never know precisely the outcome. It’s so experimental and surprising. I love it!
Here you will find original artwork that consists of cyanotypes, prints, and posters.
All pieces of cyanotype art are made by hand using nature as an inspiration, and I often use nature in the process to create each piece.
I believe in creating unique art with greater meaning and a connection to nature, and it brings calm and beauty to your space.
This connection to nature helps us raise questions and build awareness to help the environment while bringing natural beauty into your home through art.
